CoreSupport Performance Underscrub
High-performance support, no medical claims. The CoreSupport is the underscrub for the shift where you want a fitted, supportive base layer that holds its shape through the hardest parts of the day. Compression-style knit, four-way stretch, zoned construction, and the close-to-the-body feel that smooths your silhouette under scrubs.
Gentle, all-day compression-style fit and supportive comfort. The CoreSupport Underscrub is where high-performance compression-style construction meets a fitted base layer engineered for long healthcare shifts. Designed for demanding work that requires both endurance and ease, this underscrub offers a fitted, supportive feel across the core without sacrificing mobility or breathability.
What CoreSupport is — and what it isn't
The CoreSupport is a high-performance underscrub with a compression-style fit. That means the fabric is engineered to hug the body, hold its shape across long shifts, and give you a fitted, supportive feel under scrubs. It is not a medical compression garment — we make no medical-grade compression claim, we don't measure or publish mmHg values, and we don't recommend the CoreSupport as a substitute for any clinician-prescribed compression. If you have a venous condition or any specific medical reason to wear graduated compression, talk to your provider about a prescribed garment instead.
What CoreSupport gives you is the kind of high-performance, fitted support you'd find in a premium athletic compression-style top, translated for a healthcare shift. The core area of the garment is knit with a higher-density structure so it sits supportively against the abdomen and lower back without pinching. The sleeves and shoulders use a lighter compression-style knit so you don't lose mobility when you reach overhead. The whole garment is designed to feel supportive, not restrictive.
The high-performance label here refers to the engineering approach, not a marketing claim. Zoned knit construction (denser through the core, lighter through the sleeves) is the same approach high-performance athletic apparel uses for cycling, running, and crossfit. We took the construction approach and translated it for a healthcare-shift use case: the compression-style support sits where you actually want it (lower back, abdomen) during a long shift, and the lighter knit at the sleeves lets you reach, lift, and bend without the fabric fighting you. That's the high-performance brief — engineered support where it earns its place, lighter knit everywhere else.

Fit & sizing
The CoreSupport runs closest to the body of any underscrub we make. It is fitted by design — the compression-style knit is what creates the supportive feel, so a relaxed fit defeats the point of the garment. Sleeves end at the wrist with a flat-knit cuff. Hem hits at the high hip and stays put thanks to the high-recovery knit. The crew neckline sits flat enough to disappear under a V-neck scrub top while giving full coverage at the collarbone.
For a true fitted-supportive feel, order your usual top size. If you prefer the supportive-but-easier in-between (still smoothed, less hug), size up one. We don't recommend sizing down. Full measurements on our size guide.
Evidence panel
Claim: CoreSupport is a compression-style underscrub — fitted, supportive, and dimensionally stable through 12-hour shifts.
Method: Compression-style construction and shape retention verified by in-house wear-testing across repeated wash cycles with measured pre/post fit.
Source: Ala Underscrubs founder wear-testing + production records, 2025-2026.
Limitations: Compression-style is an apparel category, not a medical category. We make NO medical compression claim, NO mmHg claim, and NO claim of clinical benefit. The CoreSupport is not a substitute for any prescribed compression garment.

Claim: The core panel uses a higher-density knit than the sleeves to deliver a supportive feel at the abdomen and lower back without restricting overhead mobility.
Method: Zoned knit construction verified at the mill — separate yarn-density structures across core panel vs sleeve panel. Mobility verified by founder wear-testing with overhead-reach and squat range-of-motion checks.
Source: Ala Underscrubs production records + founder wear-testing, 2025-2026.
Limitations: "Supportive feel" is qualitative and self-reported. We have not commissioned third-party performance testing.

Care instructions
Machine wash cold on a regular cycle with like colors. Tumble dry low. No fabric softener — it coats the nylon and degrades compression-style recovery over time. No bleach. Avoid hot water — heat breaks down spandex. The high-density knit holds its supportive shape through repeated wash cycles when cared for this way.
Pairs with
CoreSupport is the underscrub for the shift where you want a fitted, supportive feel without medical-grade claims. Pair it under any of our scrub tops or your existing scrub set. For lighter, softer all-day wear, the SilkSeam runs less fitted and softer against the skin. For seamless smoothing without compression-style hug, the AeroKnit removes seams entirely. For cold OR shifts, layer the ThermoLite Mockneck over the CoreSupport. See the full underscrub collection.
Founder note
"I lift before nearly every shift, and CoreSupport is the underscrub that doesn't fight me on either end. Supportive when I'm moving, comfortable enough to forget about it once I'm on the floor."
— Alanah, co-founder
Why this price
Zoned high-density compression-style knits cost more to produce than uniform-density fabrics — the mill has to switch yarn density mid-run, which slows the line and increases waste. The pattern engineering for a fitted-but-not-restrictive long sleeve underscrub took several rounds before we shipped it. We don't run flash sales and we ship from St. George, Utah so returns and exchanges work in days. The price is what we charge to ship one fitted, high-performance underscrub that lasts two years instead of three that fall apart.
