Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about our products, sizing, and policies.
What sizes do you offer?
Our underscrubs run from XS to XL, with the exact range varying by style — most fabrics go S to XL, FlexForm starts at XS, and CoreSupport runs S to L. Each product page shows the sizes available for that fit. See our size guide for bust, waist, hip, and sleeve measurements.
What's the difference between your fabric types?
We offer four signature fabrics, each tuned for a specific shift: CloudSoft — our everyday blend, smooth and lightweight; AeroKnit — seamless knit for high breathability and low bulk; FlexForm — gentle compression for high-movement days; ThermoLite — lightweight warmth for OR and cold-environment shifts. See our Fabrics page for more.
Are your underscrubs see-through?
No. We specifically engineered our fabrics to be opaque while remaining lightweight and breathable. You can confidently wear any of our underscrubs under light-colored scrubs.
Do you offer plus sizes?
Not yet. Our current range runs from XS to XL. Extended sizing is on our roadmap — join our list and we'll let you know when 2X+ launches.
What colors are available?
We offer a curated palette of neutrals and seasonal accent colors designed to layer seamlessly under any scrub color. Available colors vary by fabric and style — see each product page for current options.
How long does shipping take?
Standard US shipping is $8.95. Orders $100 or more ship free. Most orders ship within 1–2 business days; standard delivery is typically 5–7 business days from the ship date.
Do you ship internationally?
Not yet — we currently ship within the United States. Sign up at the bottom of any page to be the first to know when we open international shipping.
Can I track my order?
Yes. Once your order ships, you'll receive an email with tracking information. You can also log in to your account at any time to view order status.
Do you offer gift cards?
Yes — digital gift cards are available in $50, $100, $150, and $200 denominations. Delivered instantly via email, never expire. Shop gift cards.
What is your return policy?
We offer 30-day free US returns on unworn, unwashed items with original tags attached. If something doesn't fit right, we'll make it right.
How do I start a return or exchange?
Email us at ala@alaunderscrubs.com with your order number and the item(s) you'd like to return or exchange. We'll send a prepaid shipping label and process your exchange or refund within 3–5 business days of receiving the package.
What if my item is defective?
We stand behind our quality. If you receive a defective item, contact us immediately at ala@alaunderscrubs.com and we'll send a replacement at no cost.
How do I wash my underscrubs?
Machine wash cold with like colors. Tumble dry low, or hang dry for longest fabric life. Avoid bleach and fabric softeners — they break down the performance properties of our fabrics. For best results, wash inside-out.
Will the fabric hold up to frequent washing?
Yes. Our fabrics are engineered specifically for healthcare workers who wash work clothing frequently. They maintain shape, softness, and performance through hundreds of cycles.
Do your fabrics control odor?
Our fabrics use moisture-wicking construction that helps prevent the bacterial buildup that causes odor — without chemical antimicrobial treatments. Stay fresher through your shift.
Who founded Ala Underscrubs?
Ala was founded in 2026 by sisters Alyssa and Alanah. Alyssa is a registered nurse who has spent years on her feet through 12-hour shifts. Alanah manages a boutique wellness and urgent-care clinic. They built Ala after years of searching for a base layer that actually worked under scrubs.
What does 'Ala' mean?
"Ala" comes from the first letters of our founders' names — Alyssa + Alanah. In Latin it also means "wing" — a quiet nod to the people who care for others every day.
Are your products sustainable?
We're committed to designing products that last so you replace them less often. Our packaging is fully recyclable, and we're working toward more sustainable fabric sourcing as we grow.
