About the Authors

Ala Underscrubs is co-founded by twin sisters Alyssa and Alanah. Each brings a distinct lens to the brand — clinical-floor reality from Alyssa's nursing practice, and operations + aesthetics from Alanah's wellness clinic work. The work shipped on this site reflects both lenses.

Alyssa, RN — Co-Founder

Alyssa is a registered nurse with years of hands-on patient-care experience across long shifts. She drives every fit and fabric decision at Ala. Where a seam sits, how a neckline behaves when she bends over a patient, whether the cuff bunches under a scrub sleeve — these are not abstract questions for her, and they're not abstract questions for the underscrubs Ala ships. She prototype-tests every iteration herself, on actual shifts, and she's the editorial voice behind clinical content on the site.

Editorial role: clinical accuracy, fit + fabric, nurse-shift authenticity. Posts authored or medically reviewed by Alyssa carry the "Medically reviewed by Alyssa, RN" tag.

Alanah — Co-Founder

Alanah runs operations at a boutique wellness clinic. Her lens is different from Alyssa's and that's the whole point. She thinks about how an underscrub looks the moment you take your scrub top off — the cleaner neckline, the considered color, the kind of detail you only notice when it's missing. She also runs the parts of Ala that aren't fabric: inventory, fulfillment, the relationships with the makers, the quietly unglamorous work of making a brand that ships on time.

Editorial role: brand voice, aesthetics, operations transparency. Posts authored or reviewed by Alanah carry her byline.

Editorial standards

Health and care-related content on this site is reviewed by Alyssa, RN, before publication. We don't make medical claims; we share practical wisdom from actual clinical-shift experience. If a claim affects patient safety, it's been clinically reviewed. If a claim is a brand opinion, it's labeled as such.
